Tatiana is a breath of fresh air. The words that leave her mouth are truly inspiring, and I couldn’t get enough of her positive mindset - it’s addictive! I want to be more positive, I want to be kinder, and I want to be more like her!
It’s rare to find people in the world that always see the glass half full instead of half empty. But when you find them, it’s best to keep them around.
Keep reading so that you, too, can get to know Tatiana just as I did. I can guarantee that you’ll genuinely enjoy the conversations we had when I interviewed her.
Maggie: The word beauty means something different to every woman in this world. What does beauty mean to you? Did anyone have an influence over the way you defined beauty while you were growing up? Or did you choose to develop your own definition on your own terms?
Tatiana: Despite what I saw, or what I was told about beauty, I felt that beauty always came from deep within.
Growing up, I saw how graceful the women in my life handled all of life’s challenges and obstacles, and I wanted to be just like those women. I like staying positive and being kind; those are the virtues I look to and aspire to have.
M: Having a positive mindset will keep you optimistic. Aspiring to be kind will grow your caring personality.
Can you tell us a bit about what has made you the way you are today? How were you able to sustain that positive mindset and aspire to be kind? What life experiences got you here?
T: Today, I am a teacher currently pursuing my doctorate degree. I have two fully grown children; my son is 22 and my daughter is 18.
It’s not easy being a full-time student and a working mom, and we do have many obstacles to overcome together, but I have worked hard to grow and will continue to do so.
[To answer your questions,] I think love, kindness, and gratitude made me what I am today.
M: Being a teacher and a full-time student must be hard. But as you said, you and your family are overcoming so many obstacles together. Does that make you feel beautiful? Do you look at yourself and see your beauty?
T: It’s not easy for me to be confident in my own beauty, but I do try.
I think it’s very important to stay positive and to not compare [myself] to others. I am proud of myself for all of my accomplishments and how far I have come.
M: The positive mindset that you have is contagious; I’m looking forward to learning from you and instilling positive thoughts in my life.
If there are any words of wisdom you could offer to the women of the world, what would you say? What can you share that would make them want to be more positive in their day-to-day lives?
T: I would say that whenever you find yourself laughing with family and friends, when you feel like you’re having the best time ever, just hold onto that. Absorb it. And remember it when you don’t feel good about yourself.
Remind yourself that it’s those moments that matter. It’s your happiness that matters.
M: The woman you are today is inspiring. Can you tell us how that inspiring personality makes you feel uniquely powerful?
T: [I’d say it makes me feel uniquely powerful because] I’m on my own, loving myself, and making the best out of my situation with my kids. I still try to be better and to better myself every day.
That’s all we can do as women of the world - try to be better and to better ourselves every day.
I genuinely appreciated the time I spent interviewing Tatiana, and I’ll admit, I did learn a thing or two about how positivity can truly change your life and your outlook on the way life works itself out.
I hope you picked up on a few things that she said, too. Today, or tomorrow, try and instill some of that positivity and kindness into your life; you’ll be surprised at the amount of joy it’ll start bringing you.
